It’s unbelievable how the weather has changed so much in just a week! Last weekend as I was driving to meet Erika and Brad downtown for their engagement photos, looking at the temperature, it was -7 degrees – and that wasn’t even including the windchill! And today as I post these favorites, it is 46 degrees! But these two made it look warm and I’m so happy we were able to get some photos outside in the natural light. We took all of the photos we needed within 15 minutes and decided it was time to head inside for some warmth in the Iowa State Capital Building!
Erika and Brad are both from the Des Moines area and now live in Champaign, IL. They actually met over nine years ago when they were both lifeguards at the Clive Aquatic Center (which if you remember Allie and Dan, I have two couples getting married this year who have met while working at swimming pools!). It will be their 10th anniversary this fall as they get married!
I don’t remember first meeting Erika, it was most likely when I was in 7th or 8th grade. She is my best friend’s older sister and the Ehlers are my second family! I got to kind of see Erika and Brad grow together these years and I was so honored when they asked me to photograph their wedding this fall! I could not be more excited!
Erika and Brad – thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer! Thank you for barring the cold! You two were so great! Enjoy some of my favorites!
